Young people (especially young women and adolescent girls) represent a significant portion of new HIV diagnoses. But many young people with HIV have told us about instances where they’ve experienced stigma and discrimination in health care facilities, which discourages them from seeking care.
Health practitioners, community health workers and educators can make a significant difference to young people with HIV by offering inclusive and welcoming support to help them access treatment and adhere to it.
